Privacy policy of Stailamedia AG

Stailamedia adheres to the Principles of the EDAA Online Behavioural Advertising (OBA) Framework.

Stailamedia AG is a technology-enabled media services company whose clients include both online advertisers („Advertisers“) and Internet content sites („Publishers“). We deliver innovative products and services designed to enable Advertisers to better reach their target audiences and enable Publishers to support, grow and monetize their websites through the sale of advertisements.

We believe that safe, secure and respectful practices regarding the use of consumer information are fundamental to our business success and to the growth and vitality of the Internet as a whole. We are a corporate partner of the iab-Europe, the trade association of the European digital and interactive marketing industry („IAB“). Stailamedia adheres to European wide principles of voluntary self-regulatory by the digital advertising industry for online behavioral advertising.

This Privacy Policy is intended to provide users with clear and complete information about the data we collect in connection with our product offerings and services (together, referred to herein as our „Services“) and the way that data is stored and used by our company, our advertisers and our publishers. This Privacy Policy also explains the user’s choices for managing the information preferences. For a full description of our services please see our website at www.stailamedia.com.

For information about our privacy practices as they relate to our website, please see below.

By using the site or the services users consent to this privacy policy.

Information relating to our services

As part of the provision of its services, Stailamedia AG does not collect, store or distribute any personal data whatsoever. No names, residential addresses, email addresses or similar information is collected or processed. Stailamedia only uses the IP address (after prior encryption) to identify the user profile.

We deliver advertisements from hundreds of advertisers across a multitude of publisher websites. If one of the websites in our network is visited, the automated system of our service provider and our data management platform may collect anonymous user data that relates to the user’s visit to this website.

This data is not personal and contains information such as the IP address, websites visited, date and time at which these websites were visited, and interactions between content and ads. The technology used to collect this data contains cookies and web beacons that are deleted again after a certain time.

When registering or signing up to a newsletter, demographic data such as the user’s post code, age, gender or similar may be collected. Under no circumstances do we process or store personal data such as names, addresses, email addresses or similar that enables any direct information to be deduced concerning a specific person.

Aside from the information stored, we augment the data pool with characteristics that we or our service providers deem valuable. These characteristics primarily consist of segment identifiers, such as football fans, smart shoppers, adventurous travellers, and so on. Under no circumstances do we make any presumptions as to an individual’s credit rating, susceptibility to illness, political orientation or similar.

In cooperation with several renowned data providers, we use information from websites that we do not market ourselves. In return, we provide information to third parties in the form of anonymized cookies, i.e. non-personal data.

In order to improve performance, our service providers augment data with non-personally-identifiable interest based and demographic data from publishers and other partners. This anonymous data may include such things as zip code, age, gender and income range.

We utilize the non-personal information described above to better customize the sort of advertisements a user sees. We also aggregate anonymous cookie data in order to identify large audience segments that assist advertisers in targeting their campaigns to the most relevant online audience. Our service providers store the information collected in log files, and log files are retained in their systems for a reasonable period of time. Anonymous data stored in these log files that associates the log data to a particular computer may include IP address and User ID.

Consumer Choice – Opting Out of Receiving Cookies

For the optimal deliver of our services, we use third-party technologies (from AppNexus, Semasio, Augur) that include cookies and web beacons. We believe that the use of these tools enables us to provide users with a more meaningful web experience and a higher quality of advertising. The users may adjust their computer’s web browser settings to refuse all cookies. However, because cookies are widely used, disabling the use of cookies in a web browser may interfere with full use of various websites.

Through this opt-out procedure, your computer will request an „opt-out cookie“ ID tag that will prevent your anonymous data from being matched to your computer and thereby prevent us from using that data to deliver targeted advertising or other content to your computer’s browser. Please note that this opt-out process will erase the cookie ID associated with your computer but not the cookie itself – the cookie itself must remain on your computer in order for us to recognize the user as an opt-out user. This means that if users use multiple computers or multiple browsers they will need to opt-out of receiving cookies on each computer and for each browser. Also, if users change computers or delete cookies from their computer they will need to repeat this opt-out process.

Transfer of Data Upon Change of Control

In the event that another company acquires all or substantially all of the assets of our business through a consolidation, merger, asset purchase or other transaction, we reserve the right to transfer all data (including any personally identifiable data) that is in our possession or under our control to such acquiring party.
